Junior Activities
September 8, 2008 - May 23, 2009
Our Junior program will continue as in the past. Players will be grouped by age and ability. Our goal is to help your child learn the basic fundamentals of the game along with sportsmanship and fun. Members and non-members are invited to play. Non-members must pay for the entire session prior to the first class. Members will be billed for the entire session once it starts. The 2008-2009 schedule is divided into four 8 week sessions.
Session 1 September 8 - November 1 (8 weeks)
Session 2 November 3 – January 17 (8 weeks) (no class Nov. 24-30 Thanksgiving)
No classes December 22 through January 4. Happy Holidays!
Session 3 January 19 - March 14 (8 weeks)
Session 4 March 16 - May 23 (8 weeks) No class April 13-26 for Spring Break

MR. PEE WEE TENNIS
is a great program to get your kids into tennis. Four and five year olds receive basic instruction with emphasis on developing eye-hand coordination. Six and seven year olds add more specific techniques as well. All ages have lots of fun! New students will receive a new racquet (one per child).

BEGINNERS
is designed for juniors with very limited tennis exposure. Basic stroke development will be emphasized as well as eye-hand coordination.

ADVANCED BEGINNERS
is designed for children who have had some instruction, and playing experience. Forehands, backhands, and serves will be reviewed with more instruction on service returns, overheads, net play and volleys. Players are divided into groups based on age and ability.

INTERMEDIATE
is a continuation of advanced beginners, offering a full years progression geared toward strategy in singles and doubles play. Running and movement drills are stressed to incorporate ground strokes with net play. Players will be grouped by age and ability.

ADVANCED
is for juniors who meet the qualifications for intermediates but have taken their tennis to the next level. Advance juniors commonly play outside tournaments on a local or state-wide basis and have a strong inner desire to improve.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS
are designed for the older juniors who are playing high school tennis. Emphasis will be on skill refinement, singles and doubles strategy, shot selection, and court awareness.
